We’re seeking a skilled  Underwriting Officer (Life) to manage all aspects of underwriting, placement, and documentation. From treaty to Retrocession, Retakaful, and Facultative businesses, you’ll handle it all. But that’s not all—we’re equally committed to building strong client relationships and exceeding expectations.

Job specifications

  • Managing Life underwriting processes and workload through enforcing Life underwriting guidelines and productivity standards.
  • Lead in placement of new business and renewals of existing business
  • Issuance of Credit / Debit notes
  • Ensures Debt collection of premiums
  • Prepares slips/cover notes
  • Confirms the various treaty statement of accounts
  • Makes visits to the new targeted business and existing clients for follow up and acquisition of business
  • Coordinates and participates in the analysis of new and existing Treaty programs to enhance service delivery
  • Coordinates and participates in the negotiations of the annual treaty program terms to enhance retention of existing and acquisition of new business.
  • Prepares the renewal documentations for the Treaty businesses to help with retention of clients.
  • Perform other tasks which may be assigned from time to time.

Academic, Professional Qualification and Job Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Insurance, Actuarial Science, Economics or related field required
  • Possesses insurance professional qualifications – AIIK or ACII
  • Over 4 years’ experience in life underwriting
  • High level of competency with information technology.
  • Customer centric
